An Austin Intimate Brunch Wedding

As an Austin, Texas wedding photographer, we have lots of opportunity for good weather throughout the year for wedding photos. It rains, but typically not for a whole day and yes, it's hot, but there's an opportunity to brave the heat for a few minutes to get a pretty outdoor shot and it's not like that in all parts of the country.

However, when we do see rain in the forecast for an Austin Texas wedding day, just like anywhere, we stalk the forecast for days leading up to the celebration. Well needless to say, there was rain in the forecast for Monica and Michael's authentic Austin wedding day a few weekends ago.

However, when I arrived to the church, on Saturday morning, the sun was shining. I was able to photograph some beautiful shots of the church with the sun beaming bright, complete family formals and some authentic bride and groom portraits at the church and I’m SO glad I did! The light was bright and beautiful and as the morning went on some clouds did appear.

When arriving to Mattie’s (an eclectic Austin staple) for brunch, we were able to complete the remainder of bright and some trendy bride and groom portraits and the necessary family/friends photos before the group was able to sit down to a beautiful family-styled brunch with some cocktails. During brunch, low and behold, the sky opened up and the rain briefly came. So thankful it was once we completed our important wedding photos.

The group enjoyed delicious brunch and conversation and finished up the celebrations with a short poem by the bride’s sister and the cutting and eating of the cake!

I loved being a part of this sweet Austin wedding day and loved how intimate and personal the day was for the happy couple. To many years of happiness!

Cheers!

xoxo Alex
