A Winter Wedding For Alex And Sean

When you think of Texas, you probably don’t think of cold winter wedding days. That’s a great part of being a wedding photographer in southern states of Texas and now as an Orlando Florida wedding photographer; you often don’t have to worry about cold-weather weddings. However, for Sean and Alex, their wedding day fell on one of the coldest days that Austin had experienced in 2024.

As we enter the winter months, I can’t help but reflect on how the cold can alert and rejuvenate us to prepare for new beginnings and that’s exactly what the chilly day brought for them.

While we near the holidays, as my husband and I have just moved to another notably warm area of the country, now as a central Florida wedding photographer, it annually becomes the only time of year that I crave a little chill in the air!

Aside from an exciting chill to prepare Alex and Sean and their guests to celebrate their new beginning in the form of their marriage, their day also brought family traditions including the Spanish lasso ceremony and family that traveled internationally in order to celebrate the couple appropriately. Things I continue to expect to see at times with my Orlando wedding photography. They also did a fun little “burying” of a wine bottle for their first anniversary. I love people who always find a reason to celebrate with a bottle of wine!

Following the traditions and rituals of the ceremony, Alex and Sean and I ventured outside to embrace the cold of their day and capture their bride and groom portraits. Alex was perfectly prepared with an elegant bridal pashmina, which suited not only the weather but also Alex’s bridal look perfectly!.

In true Alex and Sean fashion, we had to recreate an iconic photo of Alex holding Sean that we had done at their engagement sessions. I love how much fun these two are. They truly enjoy each others’ company and don’t take life too seriously.

As Christmas rapidly approaches, I’ve loved looking back at this stunning wedding day this past year, to bring me back to those Christmas-weather feels and get me in the merry mood from my Central Florida wedding photography office!

I can’t wait to capture more fun-loving bride and grooms just like this sweet couple, even if the weather may be slightly different than this crisp day in my wedding photography for now!
